Kodie’s Story
Kodie was kind-hearted. He never met anyone or anything he didn’t like. I adopted him when he was 9 years old. I am grateful to have had him for as long as I did.
He came from a home with a child with autism. Kodie was so good around children. He would let them hold him and cuddle with him. I really wanted him to be a therapy dog, so I could take him to the children’s hospital, knowing his past and how good he was. He almost passed, but couldn’t sit and stay. He was too clingy.
He was so good at knowing when you were sad and just needed company. I miss him so much.

I want to say thank you to Dr. Smith from Youngsville Animal Hospital. She had discussed with me end of life during Kodie’s semi annual visit and answered all my questions. She worked with me to help his arthritis and gave me every resource to help him. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stop him from aging and just his overall decline. She was so kind and patient. I will be forever grateful for her to have the hard discussion.
