Vela’s Story
Vela Autumn Siegel crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully on September 6, 2026 at the age of 21. She was born on May 15, 2005 and adopted by the Siegel family from HAWS at 8 weeks old. Vela lived in Waukesha until 2018, when she moved to Phoenix with Sophy and entered her “retirement era” with Andrew and Skip.
Vela was an extraordinary cat and could melt anyone’s heart with her sweet and affectionate personality. Despite her gentle demeanor, she was also a spunky diva and loved to loudly share what was on her mind! She was the perfect mixture of sweet and sassy.
Vela’s hobbies included sunbathing on the balcony, cuddling with her humans, car rides, watching TV, and occasionally snacking on popcorn or cereal. She also loved any toy with feathers on it and enjoyed being active, jumping to tall heights until the very end.
She is survived by her human companions and her parakeet brothers. Although she is missed terribly, her family takes comfort in knowing that she has reunited with the many family members and friends who were waiting for her. Vela leaves behind a legacy of pure love that will live in our hearts forever. We are beyond grateful to her for giving us 21 years of beautiful memories.
Rest easy, sweet girl. You are so loved.
