Kona’s Story
Kona started life as a tornado victim. She then bounced around from shelter to shelter and home to home until she landed with me.
For 11 years, she was my best friend. She was there when I lost my father, and my grandfather, and my two cats, Boots and Salem. She was there when I was recovering from surgery, when I ended a 3-year long engagement, and when I was stuck in quarantine during the pandemic. She was attached to me like velcro: wherever I went, Kona followed.
She moved across the country with me, went through different jobs and relationships with me. She was always there when I came home to greet me. We hiked mountains and trekked through forests together and she was always ready for our next adventure.
She was the best dog in the world.
