Kekoa’s Story

Kekoa came into my life shortly after I had to put my previous dog, Kona, down. I always wanted a Golden Retriever, and he was the best dog I could have ever asked for. He was the runt of the litter and almost didn’t survive, but he fought through.

I chose the name Kekoa because it means “the brave one” in Hawaiian, which felt like the perfect name for him. The day I met him, I remember him fitting in my hands. His puppy ribbon color was green, and with my last name Green as well, I just knew we were meant to be together.

He lived 11 adventurous years with me as my emotional support dog and helped me overcome so much trauma. I wouldn’t be here today without him, and I truly believe that was his mission here on earth. Koa was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately slowly declined over time.

He will never be forgotten and will be forever loved, until we meet again.
